EDUCATION
chinese educationThe education system in China is the largest in the world. The Chinese government put in place an education law, making it mandatory that all children in China take at least 9 years of education. As a result of this law, the Ministry of Education estimates that 99.7% of the Chinese population today has achieved these 9 years. In June 2016, 9.4 million students took the National Higher Education Entrance Examination in China. The country has had a long history of providing education to international students by offering study abroad programs. The number of international students who study abroad in China significantly increases each year. The education system is governed in three levels: National, Provincial, and Local. China as a whole is looking to improve the quality of their education system by considering a curriculum reform in the near future

Their mission is to modernize the country as a whole through its education. There are three parts to the education system: Pre-School Education, Basic Education, and Higher Education. Children ages 6 to 11 attend Primary School, which covers the first 6 years of compulsory education. Then children attend Junior Middle School, which is grades 7, 8, and 9. For grades 10, 11, and 12, Chinese children attend Senior Middle School, which is what we know as High School in the US. Afterwards, students can either attend a university or enter the work force
