People's Liberation Army
The People's Liberation Army
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is currently undergoing huge reforms. China's armed forces were orginally established as internal security forces, designed to fight a civil war (Yamaguchi, 2016). After the current reform, China will be equiped to fight a modern external war effectively (Yamaguchi, 2016). This reform includes the creation of natural links between different military branches and the complete overhaul of the current organizational structure (Yamaguchi, 2016). The video below further details the PLA's history, current status, and future outlook.
